Kitchen Remodel After Fire

The owner’s rental property suffered a fire caused by a tenant, an international student, during a cooking mishap. The student left the kitchen while heating oil on the electric stove, either to play video games or take a phone call, leading to prolonged heating and an oil fire. Even after the stove was turned off, the residual heat continued to ignite the microwave and range hood above the pan, resulting in severe damage to the kitchen. The fire not only blackened the walls but also left a lingering, harsh odor from burning plastic, making a full kitchen renovation necessary.
After the incident, the insurance company got involved. We worked closely with them and successfully secured compensation for the owner, covering the damages and even providing an additional allowance. Within two weeks, we completed the repainting and replaced all cabinetry, giving the entire kitchen a fresh, new look and restoring the space to its former glory.
